To make this keto-friendly egg roll recipe, you are going to need the following ingredients listed below:
- spicy bulk pork sausage
- water
- green cabbage
- medium carrot
- garlic powder
- toasted sesame oil
- fresh ginger
- green onions
- rice vinegar
- coconut aminos or tamari
- Sea salt
- black pepper, to taste
Now that you know what the ingredients to make this egg roll recipe let’s continue.
First, you need to heat a light skillet over medium-high heat.
You are going to cook the sausage and while it is cooking break the meat into small pieces. The cooking process is about 6 minutes or until there is no pink visible in the meat.
Remove the sausage from the heat and drain any excess grease from the cooking skillet.
A safety tip here and is to make sure that all the excess grease dripping from the side of the skillet is wiped off before returning it to the burner.
Return the skillet back to the burner to heat.
Water will be added, and the reason why is because you are going to scrape the bottom bits of sausage found with a spatula.
Reduce the heat.
Add the cabbage, carrots, sesame oil, ginger, and green onions to the skillet.

Easy Keto Egg Roll in a Bowl
Ingredients
- 1¼ lb. spicy bulk pork sausage
- ¼ c. water
- 3 c. green cabbage, shredded
- 1 medium carrot, shredded
- ½ t. garlic powder
- 2 T. toasted sesame oil
- ½ T. fresh ginger, finely minced
- 2 T. green onions, chopped
- 1 T. rice vinegar
- 2 T. coconut aminos or tamari
- Sea salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Heat a large high-sided skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and cook, breaking the meat into small pieces as it cooks, for approximately 5-6 minutes.
Once the sausage is no longer pink, remove from heat and carefully drain excess grease from the pan.
Safety Tip: Wipe off any excess fat that drips down the side of the pan before returning to the burner.
Return skillet to heat.
Add water and scrape up brown bits from the bottom of the pan with a spatula. Reduce heat to medium and add shredded cabbage, carrots, sesame oil, ginger, and green onions.
Season with salt and black pepper, to taste, and cook, stirring frequently, until the cabbage wilts and the carrot softens approximately 4-5 minutes.
Add rice vinegar and coconut aminos and stir to combine.
Cook another 1-2 minutes or until heated through.
Remove from heat and transfer to a serving platter or bowl. Sprinkle with toasted
sesame seeds, if using, and serve immediately.
