When it comes to choosing items on the go that can fit into your ketogenic diet, it definitely is a challenge, especially with such a restrictive meal plan.
The Keto meal plan is low in carbs, high in fat and moderate in protein. The problem with most food places is that most of their food tends to be high in carbs, however there are some keto-friendly menu items to pick from that they have available.
However, if you’re going to someone’s house for a birthday party, BBQ, function, or you name it, there won’t necessarily be healthy food that you need to eat according to your diet. Especially if you’re on a long road trip and you’re in the middle of nowhere, and all you have access to is a gas station which sells junk food.
Here are some ketogenic, on the go options, that you can make at home and take with you to enjoy on those road trips, sightseeing, work, parties, travel or other activities.

For a warm and comforting Keto snack, bone broth is the way to go. It may be unexpected, but it’s tasty nonetheless. Bone broth can be made using a slow cooker, pressure cooker or on the stove top. You can make a batch and divide it into individual servings, freeze them and then take them with and all you would need to do is heat them up when you’re craving this delightful snack.
Keto Sushi Rolls
Keto sushi rolls make for excellent snacks which are nutrient-rich. And it doesn’t even take long to make, like 15 minutes. All you would need is to get nori seaweed sheets, fish and chopped veggies to use for filling. You can choose from raw fish, or smoked fish, or no fish at all and just keep it with vegetables like avocado, cucumber and bell pepper. Boost the fat content by adding spicy peanut sauce or by adding cream cheese- as long as it doesn’t contain any added sweetener.
Avocados
Avocados make for a great snack and meal, whether it’s on its own or as a salad mixed with avocado and egg. Avocados are full of nutrition with heart-healthy fats, minerals, fiber, vitamins and anti-inflammatory compounds. It makes for a great substitute for mayonnaise in the traditional egg salad.
